Businessman Dov Frances Signals Political Ambitions Including Possible PM Bid
Dov Frances, a venture capitalist and businessman known for his close ties to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, has publicly revealed his political ambitions for the first time. Speaking at the Negev Conference, Frances stated that while he has not yet completed his current "mission," he envisions entering politics in the future and even suggested he might run for prime minister.
This announcement comes a day after the Likud party officially denied reports that they were considering reserving a spot for Frances on their Knesset list. The party clarified that the matter was never discussed. Frances has been a vocal supporter of the government during the recent protests against judicial reforms, openly opposing segments of the high-tech community that resisted the changes.
Frances has previously served as an advisor to Netanyahu on artificial intelligence issues and is regarded as a close confidant of the prime minister. His comments at the conference mark a significant step toward a potential political career, possibly culminating in a leadership bid ahead of the 2026 elections.
