Israeli TV Host Struggles After Tasting World's Hottest Pepper on Live Broadcast
During a live segment on Channel 13's "The Daily Report," host Kobi Machat and panelists faced a fiery challenge involving the world's hottest chili pepper. The ordeal quickly turned chaotic as the intense heat caused coughing fits, panic, and unexpected injuries.
The challenge began when Machat offered the pepper to panelist Tiltil, who confidently took a small bite but immediately started coughing and struggling to breathe. Machat tried to calm him, joking about the recipe's origin. Next, Maayan Ashkenazi took a large bite and soon regretted it, asking if she could spit it out. Machat reminded her they were live and urged her to endure the heat, which she battled while drinking water and visibly shaking.
Finally, Machat himself took a bite of chicken wing coated in the fiery sauce, encouraged by actor Tzahi Halevi. Initially calm, Machat soon admitted the burn was intense and spreading, describing a numbing sensation and warning it "burns twice," implying the pain would worsen.
After the challenge, Ashkenazi was left with a red tongue and tissues, Tiltil experienced back pain from coughing, and Machat made the critical mistake of touching his eye after handling the pepper, causing further discomfort. The segment highlighted the physical toll of consuming extremely spicy food on live television and the hosts' humorous yet painful reactions.
