Wife of Esteemed Dushinsky Rabbi Chaya Tova Fisher Passes Away Suddenly at 67
The Dushinsky Hasidic community and the extended Sanhedria neighborhood in Jerusalem are mourning the sudden death of Rebbetzin Chaya Tova Fisher, who passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday morning at the age of 67. She was found unresponsive in her sleep, and despite prolonged resuscitation efforts by emergency teams at her home, she was pronounced dead. Born in 1958 to the respected elder Rabbi Asher Yaakov, a prominent disciple of the Maharitz of Dushinsky, she married Rabbi Yissachar Dov (Beril) Fisher, a revered rabbinic authority and lecturer in the Dushinsky community for decades.
Rebbetzin Fisher was known for her devoted support of her husband's Torah and teaching roles, enabling him to dedicate himself fully to scholarship and student guidance. The family and community received the news with profound shock and sorrow, especially as she had recently attended a grandchild's engagement celebration just a week prior. Despite ongoing health issues, none anticipated such a sudden loss of the beloved matriarch, who was the central spiritual and familial figure.
She leaves behind a large, distinguished family of eight sons and five daughters, including notable businessman and real estate developer Meilech Fisher. Her sister is Rebbetzin Ulman, wife of Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak Ulman, a member of the Edah HaChareidis rabbinical court in Jerusalem. The funeral took place Tuesday at 1:00 PM from her home on Ma'aglei HaRim Levin Street in Sanhedria to Har HaMenuchot cemetery. Her soul is remembered as bound in the bond of life.
