Waze Introduces Personalized Navigation and Reduced Voice Guidance Features
Waze announced on July 13, 2026, the launch of two new features aimed at enhancing user experience: personalized navigation and a "less talking" mode. The personalized navigation feature adapts routes based on individual driving habits, learning from users' travel history to offer preferred route types, such as faster roads or alternatives for those who avoid them. This customization also considers local traffic patterns in each city and region. Users retain the option to select different routes for each trip or disable the feature via app settings.
The "less talking" mode reduces the frequency of voice instructions during driving, while still providing alerts for critical events like road hazards, turns, lane changes, and other safety-related guidance. Guy Berkovich, CEO of Waze, emphasized that these updates cater to diverse driver preferences, allowing a more tailored navigation experience without compromising essential safety information.
