Waze Introduces Personalized Navigation and Reduced Voice Guidance Features
Waze announced on July 13, 2026, the launch of two new features aimed at enhancing user experience: personalized navigation and a "less talking" mode. The personalized navigation feature adapts routes based on individual driving habits, learning from users' travel history to favor faster roads or alternative routes depending on preferences. This customization also incorporates local traffic patterns specific to each city and region. Users retain the option to select different routes for each trip or disable the feature entirely through the app settings.
The "less talking" mode reduces the frequency of voice instructions during trips while still providing alerts for critical events such as road hazards, turns, lane changes, and other safety-related guidance. Guy Berkovitz, CEO of Waze, emphasized that these updates cater to diverse driver preferences, offering a more tailored navigation experience without compromising essential safety information.
These enhancements reflect Waze's ongoing commitment to improving navigation by balancing personalized convenience with critical real-time alerts, aiming to make driving safer and less intrusive for users.
