Waze Launches AI-Powered Quiet Mode to Minimize Voice Alerts During Driving

Waze, the navigation app owned by Google, has introduced a new update that significantly reduces voice instructions to only essential alerts. This feature, called "Quiet Mode," aims to improve the driving experience by limiting interruptions from constant voice notifications about minor road issues. The update is now available for both Android and iOS users.

The new mode can be activated through the app's "Voice and Sound" settings, allowing drivers to receive voice guidance only for critical turns and important safety reminders. Alongside this, Waze integrates Google's Gemini artificial intelligence to enhance personalized route suggestions based on previous driving habits, not just traffic conditions. This AI learns drivers' preferences to optimize route planning and save time.

Additionally, the update enhances voice interaction capabilities, enabling drivers to report traffic incidents or map updates via voice commands instead of manual input. The voice search feature has also been upgraded to handle complex queries, such as finding nearby gas stations with the lowest prices, delivering customized results tailored to the user's request.
