AliExpress Implements Tax Collection and Improves Shipping Options for Israeli Customers

AliExpress has introduced new changes for its Israeli customers, including collecting VAT at checkout for packages valued over $75. This adjustment aligns with practices used by Amazon and aims to prevent delays caused by customs clearance and tax collection by shipping companies in Israel.

Additionally, AliExpress has upgraded its shipping service by allowing customers to update their preferred pickup address directly on the website. This feature enables users to select a more convenient and closer pickup point, reducing travel time and improving the overall shopping experience. Customers can update their shipping address by navigating to Account → Settings → Shipping Address.

According to Alibuy, a Facebook and Telegram group that first reported these changes, shipping costs on AliExpress are expected to decrease by the end of the month, potentially lowering product prices. The site also plans a "mega sale" event in August. Despite ongoing conflicts, shipping from China has become faster, with deliveries arriving in Israel within 7 to 10 days. AliExpress also operates warehouses in Israel, facilitating even quicker shipments.

AliExpress remains one of the most popular foreign e-commerce platforms in Israel, competing with sites like SHEIN, Temu, Next, Amazon, and iHerb.
