AliExpress Launches Back-to-School Sale with Lower Free Shipping Threshold in Israel

Chinese e-commerce giant AliExpress has kicked off its annual Back to School sale in Israel, running from August 16 to August 28. The promotion offers discounts of up to 80% on a wide range of products including school and office supplies, technology, and home goods. AliExpress aims to attract Israeli consumers by promising faster delivery times and improved shipping options.

The company announced that average shipping times during the sale will be reduced to 14 days, with some orders arriving in as little as 9 days. This acceleration is intended to ensure customers receive their orders before the school year begins on September 1, despite the shipments originating from China. Additionally, the minimum purchase amount for free home delivery has been lowered from 169 shekels to 139 shekels, aligning more closely with competitors like Amazon, which offers free shipping on orders over $49.

AliExpress also introduced a new feature allowing customers to pre-select the exact pickup location for their packages. This change responds to previous complaints about automatic assignment of distant pickup points. The company highlights this upgrade as part of the Back to School campaign to enhance the shopping experience.

While the sale provides significant discounts and improved shipping terms, customers are advised to plan their purchases in advance due to the international shipping nature. Last-minute orders may still face delays despite the faster delivery promise. Overall, the campaign combines product savings with lower shipping costs and better logistics to appeal to Israeli shoppers preparing for the new school year.
