Israel Continues Targeted Strikes Against October 7 Terror Attack Perpetrators
Since early June, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) and Shin Bet have conducted a series of targeted killings against militants responsible for the October 7 terror attacks. At least 15 terrorists involved in the massacre have been eliminated, including those who kidnapped and tortured Israeli hostages. Among the recent strikes was the killing of Muhammad Abu Tuaymah, commander of a Nukhba unit that attacked Kibbutz Nir Oz during the October 7 assault. This operation is part of a broader campaign to dismantle the terror network behind the attacks.
Other notable targets include Muhammad Jundia, head of military security for Hamas’s Shuja’iyya Brigade, who led the Nukhba squad that raided Nahal Oz and was involved in the abduction and captivity of Captain Daniel Peretz and other hostages. Large funerals for these militants in Gaza indicate Hamas still retains significant local support. For example, last month a major funeral was held for Sabai Abu Hasna, responsible for holding hostage Omer Shem Tov, who was also killed in an Israeli airstrike.
Additional militants eliminated include Zaki Abu Mustafa, filmed kidnapping child Yagil Yaakov from Nir Oz, and Taltal Abd al-Al, a Palestinian Islamic Jihad operative who tortured hostage Rom Breslavsky. These recent killings follow earlier strikes against those holding hostages such as Emily Damari and Romi Gonen. Israeli forces act swiftly upon receiving intelligence to target individuals involved in the October 7 atrocities.
This ongoing campaign echoes Israel’s historical efforts to bring perpetrators of attacks against its citizens to justice, similar to actions taken after the Munich massacre and Nazi war crimes. The operations underscore Israel’s commitment to holding accountable those responsible for the horrific events of October 7 in Gaza and beyond.
