Emirates Lose Patience With Iranian Aggression, Call for Tough Response

Countries in the Gulf are increasingly frustrated with Iran's aggressive actions, with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) openly calling for a change in approach. Although recent Iranian attacks have not targeted the Emirates directly, a former Emirati parliament member told Kan News that dealing rationally with the Iranian Revolutionary Guards is impossible. He described the Guards as detached from the Iranian people and intent on escalating tensions, advocating for a sustained series of significant strikes to convey a clear message.

Iran's recent provocations in the Gulf have intensified, including a nighttime attack on a port in Oman shortly after Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi visited the sultanate to seek a diplomatic resolution regarding the Strait of Hormuz. Despite diplomatic efforts, Iran responded with military aggression. Iranian media have also openly threatened leaders of the Emirates, Bahrain, and Kuwait, placing them alongside Israeli and American officials as targets for retaliation over the killing of former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

This escalation has led to a complete lack of trust in the Iranian regime among Gulf states, even as they publicly prefer to pursue diplomatic channels. Additionally, a source in Iraq told Kan News that one Gulf country struck inside Iran despite Iranian attacks, while Jordan supports a diplomatic solution to the rising tensions in the region.
