Former Emirati MP Calls for Strong Response to Iran Amid Gulf Tensions
Rising attacks and threats from Iran have prompted a shift in rhetoric among Gulf countries, particularly the United Arab Emirates. While previous statements emphasized calm, sharper voices are now demanding a forceful response to Tehran. A former Emirati parliament member told Kan News, "There is no trust in the Iranians. They must be taught a hard lesson to understand the message." He added, "It is impossible to deal rationally with the Revolutionary Guards."
He further criticized the Iranian regime, stating, "The Revolutionary Guards have seized Iran from its people. They seek to escalate and worsen the situation. They only understand the language of force and exhibit a form of sadism; attacking once or twice is not enough." This escalation follows continued Iranian provocations against Gulf states. Overnight, a port in Oman was attacked just hours after Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi visited the sultanate to seek a compromise over the Strait of Hormuz. According to reports, Iran's response to peace proposals was violence.
Simultaneously, Iranian rhetoric continues to threaten leaders of the UAE, Bahrain, and Kuwait, marking them as assassination targets alongside senior Israeli and U.S. officials. These threats are framed as retaliation for the killing of Iran's former supreme leader, Ali Khamenei.
