American Man Repels Aggressive Bear Near Lake Tahoe Using Bear Spray

Cortlandt Quarowitz, a Sacramento resident, faced a sudden bear attack outside his vacation home near Lake Tahoe, USA, just before the Fourth of July celebrations. His daughters first spotted the bear rummaging through trash bins, and unlike typical bear behavior, the animal did not flee upon seeing humans but instead approached them. Security footage captured Quarowitz quickly grabbing bear spray from near the garage door and using it to fend off the charging bear. The spray hit the bear’s face and eyes, successfully driving it away. Quarowitz noted that while bears are common in the area, he had never encountered such aggressive behavior before and acknowledged that without the bear spray, his options would have been limited.
