According to the New York Post, the US aircraft carriers USS Abraham Lincoln and USS George H.W. Bush have entered the Gulf of Oman, signaling a possible renewed military posture against Iran. Concurrently, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) reported that over 20 American warships are operating in the region to promote security and stability, though they declined to confirm if this buildup is linked to reinstating a naval blockade on Iran.

Both carriers are operating within Iran's missile range, highlighting the heightened risk and alertness in the area. Military experts suggest that such naval deployments typically precede enforcement of maritime blockades or escort missions near threat zones. Alongside military measures, diplomatic efforts continue: a Qatari delegation recently visited Iran in coordination with the US to ease tensions, and Iranian officials are expected to travel to Oman for talks concerning the Strait of Hormuz and regional shipping routes.

This development follows President Donald Trump's announcement that the US considers the nuclear understanding with Iran void after Iranian attacks on ships in the Strait of Hormuz. In response, Washington revoked Iran's oil export exemptions and conducted strikes against targets along Iran's coast. Despite the escalation, Trump expressed willingness to engage in further negotiations with Tehran, though no official talks have been reported so far.
