AEK Athens Targets Jeff Dowtin Jr. After Maccabi Tel Aviv Departure
Two months after leaving Maccabi Tel Aviv, guard Jeff Dowtin Jr. is reportedly attracting interest from AEK Athens, a Greek basketball club set to compete in the Basketball Champions League (BCL) this season. According to reports from Greece, AEK's coach Dragan Sakota is keen to sign Dowtin, valuing his shooting ability and consistent threat from beyond the three-point line.
Dowtin's recent statistics support this interest: in the EuroLeague, he averaged 8.1 points per game with a 40% three-point shooting percentage, while in the Israeli league he posted 9.6 points per game and 37% from three-point range, demonstrating his shooting stability throughout the season. Prior to his time in Israel, Dowtin also gained experience in the NBA, playing 87 games for teams including the Golden State Warriors, Milwaukee Bucks, Orlando Magic, Toronto Raptors, and Philadelphia 76ers before moving to Europe.
