Israeli Airstrike Kills Hamas Nocturnal Squad Leader Behind October 7 Raid
The Israeli Air Force eliminated Yahya Saeed Muhammad Hamdan, the head of the Nocturnal Squad within Hamas's military wing, in a precise airstrike in the Gaza Strip. Hamdan was responsible for orchestrating terror attacks against Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) and had been actively working to restore the terrorist organization's operational capabilities. He led the Nocturnal Squad that carried out the October 7, 2023, raid on Kibbutz Re'im.
The IDF stated that Hamdan posed an immediate threat to Israeli forces operating in the area and was neutralized accordingly. The Southern Command of the IDF remains deployed in the region under existing agreements and will continue efforts to eliminate any immediate threats. This operation is part of ongoing security measures following the October 7 attacks, known as the Iron Swords War.
