IDF Kills Hamas Nocturnal Squad Leader Behind October 7 Nirim Kibbutz Attack
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) eliminated Mahmoud Emad Al-Rahman Abu Taima, the leader of Hamas's Nocturnal squad in its military wing, in southern Gaza on Tuesday. Abu Taima led the squad that raided Kibbutz Nirim during the October 7 massacre. Throughout the conflict, he commanded ambushes against Israeli forces and recently focused on maintaining militant readiness and recruiting new operatives for Hamas. The IDF described Abu Taima as an immediate threat to troops operating in the area and said he was killed in a precise aerial strike. The Southern Command stated that its forces remain deployed in the region according to agreements and will continue efforts to neutralize all immediate threats.
