"Miarah will fail again": Coalition fury over the indictment of Orich

Chairman of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee Boaz Bismuth sharply attacked the filing of an indictment against Prime Minister’s aide Yonatan Urich. Bismuth claimed it was an attempt to prevent contact between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his advisers. Bismuth declared that "Baharav-Miara will fail again."
The prosecution is seeking to keep Urich away from the Prime Minister’s Office.
Also joining the attack was Noam chairman MK Avi Maoz, who said: "Tell me, Gali, wouldn’t it be simpler to issue a directive specifying which slips you approve to be in the ballot box and which ones not?" The remarks were made in reference to the indictment case and reflect criticism of the conduct of the attorney general.

On the other side, opposition figures sharply attacked Yonatan Urich. Yesh Atid chairman MK Yair Lapid said that "Netanyahu should say today: I made a serious mistake when I embraced Urich and turned a blind eye even after he admitted receiving money from a state that supports terrorism. Anyone who endangers the security of the state is finished with me and will never step foot in my office."
MK Elazar Stern also criticized Likud and Religious Zionist voters, and called on them to wake up. Stern referred to the embarrassment in the committee two days ago, when a female MK tried to justify leaking the name of a Shin Bet officer and put security personnel at risk, and said that "what else has to happen for you to say: enough?"
