Umm al-Fahm Committee Blames Police for Rising Crime and Calls for Protest
The Popular Committee in Umm al-Fahm has publicly accused the Israeli police of being responsible for the escalating security chaos and surge in crime and violence within the Arab community. The committee announced a protest scheduled for the upcoming Saturday, urging city residents to join in opposition to the worsening situation.
In its statement, the committee expressed outrage over the significant bloodshed in Arab localities attributed to crime and violence, placing full responsibility on the police. It criticized what it described as the police's systematic security failure, citing police inaction against criminal organizations, protection of offenders, and persecution of innocent individuals.
Furthermore, the committee alleged that funds allocated for combating crime were instead used to target activists and politicians in the Arab community rather than criminal gangs. It also accused the police of damaging the reputations of crime victims by associating them with criminal elements and promoting narratives that justify the crimes, all to conceal their failure in addressing the crime wave.
The committee concluded its statement with a firm declaration: "Our blood is not cheap, and we will never remain silent."
