Around 200 Rioters Attack Police in Jerusalem Following Minor Arrest

On Thursday, police in Jerusalem responded swiftly to a report of a suspect breaking into a vehicle. Officers from the Lev HaBira station arrived quickly and arrested a minor suspect at the scene. Following the arrest, approximately 200 rioters gathered and violently disrupted public order around the police officers. The rioters attacked the forces by throwing stones and objects and attempted to forcibly seize the detainee from the officers.

As a result of the violent assault, one police officer sustained minor injuries and required medical treatment, and a police vehicle was damaged. The police managed to restore public order, and the suspect was taken to the Lev HaBira station for identification and investigation. The Israeli police condemned the attack, emphasizing the seriousness of assaults on officers who are protecting citizens and their property. They stated that such violent lawbreakers cross a red line, harming police operational capabilities and public service.
