MK Avi Maoz Urges Defense Minister Israel Katz to Act Against Gunfire in Hebron Area
MK Avi Maoz, chairman of the Noam party, has called on Defense Minister Israel Katz to take immediate and decisive action against the ongoing gunfire near Kiryat Arba and Hebron. Maoz sent a letter on Thursday highlighting the persistent shooting incidents that have endangered residents and criticized the military's lack of response. He referenced the recent escalation where gunfire lasted for an extended period, forcing residents to seek shelter, and reported bullets striking homes in Kiryat Arba overnight. Maoz warned that the situation could have ended in tragedy and stressed the urgent need to address the widespread illegal weapons in the West Bank, particularly in Hebron. He emphasized that the current state of unchecked arms cannot continue and called for a firm crackdown on this dangerous phenomenon.
