IDF Launches Major Operation in Hebron After Gunfire Hits Residential Home
The Israel Defense Forces initiated a large-scale military operation in Hebron overnight Wednesday following heavy gunfire that struck a residential house in Kiryat Arba, near Hebron. The shooting was part of an internal clan conflict in the area. During the exchange of fire, bullets hit a home, prompting the IDF's Judea Brigade to conduct a focused operation aimed at disrupting and preventing further shootings in the region.
The operation involved three different battalions deployed across extensive areas, imposing a full curfew on locations known to authorities as frequent shooting hotspots. Throughout the night, soldiers searched dozens of buildings, interrogated numerous suspects, and actively worked to locate those involved in the firefight and uncover weapons caches.
So far, five suspects have been arrested and handed over to security forces for further investigation. The IDF continues its efforts to stabilize the area and prevent additional violence linked to the clan disputes.
