7-Year-Old Girl Dies After Being Hit by School Bus in Monsey's Haredi Neighborhood

A tragic accident occurred on Wednesday morning in Monsey, New York, where a 7-year-old girl named Limia Veber was fatally struck by a school bus on Blauvelt Street. The incident happened around 9:00 a.m., and emergency responders immediately arrived at the scene to perform prolonged resuscitation efforts. Despite their attempts, the girl was pronounced dead at the site.

The accident caused significant distress throughout the Monsey community, with numerous emergency personnel including paramedics from Hatzalah Rockland, Ramapo police officers, and volunteers from the Chaverim organization rushing to the location. The girl suffered severe trauma and cardiac arrest due to the collision. A black partition was set up at the scene to protect the child's privacy and dignity.
