At Least 12 Women Poisoned by Suspected Carbon Monoxide Leak at Jerusalem Beauty Salon
Emergency services including Magen David Adom, fire and rescue, and police responded to a beauty salon in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of al-Tur following reports of suspected carbon monoxide poisoning. At least 12 women were affected, with seven in moderate condition and five in mild condition. The victims were evacuated to Hadassah Ein Kerem, Hadassah Mount Scopus, and Shaare Zedek hospitals. Some of the women were unconscious upon the arrival of rescue teams.
Paramedics Fadi Dakidk, Lishi Shemesh, and medic Eli Eisenbach reported encountering significant chaos at the scene, with victims exhibiting varying levels of consciousness after inhaling a hazardous substance. They provided advanced medical treatment before hospital transfer.
Preliminary investigations suggest the source of the poisoning was a generator operating in the salon's basement, which may have emitted the toxic gas. Firefighters from the Egoz station managed the scene, while police from the Shalem station secured the area and ensured clear routes for emergency evacuations. The exact circumstances remain under investigation.
