Venezuela Requests Israel to Extend Earthquake Aid Mission by Two Weeks
The Israeli aid mission to Venezuela, dispatched after the recent earthquake, will have its stay extended by two weeks at the request of Venezuela's interim President Delsi Rodriguez. The Foreign Ministry announced on Wednesday that Rodriguez contacted Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar to prolong the mission's presence to enable the implementation of a national rehabilitation plan developed by Israeli experts. Following this request, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu approved the extension. The mission includes representatives from the Foreign Ministry and the Israel Defense Forces. Additionally, President Rodriguez met with the mission members after her conversation with the foreign minister. Meanwhile, the death toll from the earthquake in Venezuela has risen to 2,645, with satellite images revealing extensive destruction across neighborhoods.
