Almakis Loses Petition Against Gofman and May Now Lose Millions of Shekels

The Civil Prosecution will reconsider the issue of compensation it is expected to pay Uri Almakis in a civil lawsuit he filed against the state, according to a report by Avishai Grinzig of i24news.

Following the findings of Justices Stein and Grosskopf that the Gofman affair was irrelevant to the indictment that was filed at the time against Almakis, and that Gofman did not lie, certainly not abandon Almakis, the compensation amount is expected to drop sharply, according to the report.

The sides recently held negotiations over compensation of nearly NIS 4 million. However, that amount is expected to be cut dramatically.
