A court on Wednesday rejected most of a defamation lawsuit filed by protest activist Gonen Ben Yitzhak against Hani Weizer, after she called him an “old pervert” and a “sexual deviant.” According to a report by Avishai Grinzig, the judge found that Ben Yitzhak had indeed published “disgusting publications.”
The ruling said the phrases “the old pervert” and “Gonen the pervert” were legitimate expressions of opinion in light of those publications, which the court described as proven to be “disgusting.”
However, the court drew a line at the hashtag #Gonen_The_Pervert, finding that it went beyond what was justified. On that basis, the court awarded Ben Yitzhak 900 shekels.
