Florida Influencer and Husband Arrested for Leaving Babies Unattended at Luxury Resort
During the Fourth of July weekend, Allison Sirica Canela, a prominent real estate lawyer and influencer, and her husband Brian Nicholas Canela were arrested in Key Largo, Florida, on charges of child neglect. The couple left their two infants unattended in a hotel room at the luxury Reefhouse resort for nearly an hour while they drank alcohol at the pool bar. Hotel staff intervened after hearing prolonged crying from the room and found the babies alone in their cribs.
Monroe County Sheriff's deputies confirmed the incident occurred around 1:45 p.m. on Saturday. Investigators, supported by hotel security footage and eyewitness accounts, determined the children were left without adult supervision for 40 to 60 minutes. Florida child welfare authorities were notified, and the children were temporarily placed in the care of a family member. No serious physical harm was reported.
The arrest shocked Canela's followers, as she is known for her glamorous social media presence focused on luxury real estate investments and home renovations. Canela, who has over 15 years of experience in commercial real estate law and serves as a senior vice president and chief legal counsel at her firm, has been featured in notable publications praising her work. Neither Canela, her employer, nor the sheriff's office responded to media requests for comment. The couple was released on bail, with their first court appearance scheduled for September 1.
