14-Year-Old Girl Charged for Driving Stolen Car with Six Minors in Or Yehuda
A 14-year-old girl has been indicted for driving a stolen car without a license in Or Yehuda, Israel, while carrying six other minors. The charges followed the circulation of video footage on social media that led to her identification and arrest. The indictment includes serious offenses such as driving without ever having obtained a license, unauthorized use of a vehicle, reckless driving, driving without insurance, and transporting more passengers than allowed by the vehicle's license.
According to the investigation, the incidents occurred in early June on two separate occasions during nighttime and early morning hours. The girl took her mother's car keys without permission and drove through the streets of Or Yehuda. On one occasion, a friend accompanied her in the front seat, and she picked up five additional minors, resulting in seven passengers in total, despite the car's rear seat being designed for only three.
Due to the severity of the offenses and the risks involved, the prosecution requested that the girl be held in custody until the conclusion of legal proceedings, an unusual step given her young age. The indictment highlights the multiple violations, including abandoning the vehicle in an unauthorized location.
The case underscores concerns about underage driving and the dangers posed by unlicensed drivers operating vehicles with unauthorized passengers.
