Actor Daniel Gad Debuts as Director with New Football Documentary and Anthem

Daniel Gad, the acclaimed Israeli actor known for his memorable roles in "Shababnikim" and "The Pier," is making a significant career shift by stepping behind the camera as a creator and director. On Tuesday, he released "You Will Always Walk With Me," the theme song for his new documentary film "The Last Derby - Sha'arayim vs. Marmorek." Produced by Navoi Pro and the Rogovin brothers, the film will premiere on July 16 at 9:30 PM on Kan 11 and Kan Box digital platforms.

The new single, co-written and composed by Gad alongside Or Milshtein and Omri Kastan, with musical production by Shauli Yitzhak and Or Kodai, blends hip-hop rhythms with warm Mediterranean influences. It serves as a true football anthem, capturing the passion and local slang of neighborhood fans. This release is the first from Gad's second EP, arriving just a year after his debut album "Davar VeHipuchu."

Gad shared his excitement about this new creative chapter, stating that after years of acting and telling stories written by others, he is now bringing his own story to the screen. The documentary centers on a pivotal question: whether the construction of a new 150 million shekel football stadium in the city will unite the teams and close a 70-year chapter in their history.

Having established himself as one of the most respected actors of his generation through series like "Galis" and "The Pigeon Whisperer," Gad demonstrates his multifaceted talent by combining acting, music, and documentary filmmaking in this project.
