Israeli Singer Tal Sondak Releases New Single Marking 25 Years in Music
Tal Sondak, an Israeli singer and songwriter, released a new single titled "Girl in Uniform" on Sunday morning. The release coincides with his upcoming 50th birthday on July 23 and marks a milestone of 25 years in his musical career. The song was written and composed by Maor Titon, with arrangement and production by Barak Mostaki and Titon. It was inspired by the enlistment of Sondak's eldest daughter into the Israel Defense Forces and anticipates the upcoming enlistment of his second daughter. The lyrics reflect a father's perspective as he accompanies his daughter through the process of military induction and service.
Sondak began his professional career about 25 years ago, during which he represented Israel in the Eurovision Song Contest, performed in theater, and served as a musical director for youth bands and ensembles. His notable projects include the album "Nevertheless I Do Not Part," based on texts by Holocaust victim Gabor Ardesh, and "Their Song," featuring Hebrew poets' texts set to music by Rami Kleinstein. Throughout his career, Sondak has collaborated with artists such as Yitzhak Klepter, Ilanit, and the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. The new single continues his tradition of addressing personal and Israeli themes in his music.
Additional commentary on the new single and the unreleased album "Something Changed in the Soul" was provided by Idan Haviv, who noted the impact of lack of privacy on artistic creation.
