Israeli Singer Orit Isaac Releases New Solo Single Reflecting on Solitude and Togetherness

Orit Isaac, an Israeli singer-songwriter and music therapist, has released a new solo single titled "Tzur Mishlo," based on a traditional Sabbath piyyut. Isaac, who discovered her passion for music relatively late after seeing a girls' ensemble perform at a religious school, describes her musical journey as gradual and challenging. Initially rejected from formal music studies, she persevered by returning to piano lessons and eventually co-founding the band "Achoti."

In October 2023, during her reserve service as a military instructor in the IDF Rabbinate, Isaac brought music directly to soldiers stationed in southern bases amid the ongoing conflict. She played keyboard and guitar at bases such as Orim, Sde Teyman, and Re'im, aiming to provide emotional relief through music during difficult times.

Her new single explores the delicate tension between togetherness and solitude, a theme she relates to personally as a religious single woman. The single's cover art features a single plate, glass, and set of cutlery, symbolizing the balance between being alone and building a home. Isaac is preparing to release a full solo album and has upcoming performances alongside artists Sivan Rahav Meir and Racheli Mushkowitz during the month of Elul. She advocates for greater opportunities for female musicians, emphasizing the powerful spiritual and healing impact of women's music, especially in prayer and Elul performances.
