Electric Scooter Rider Indicted for Violent Assault on Driver in Elad
A resident of Elad was indicted on Sunday at the Petah Tikva Magistrate's Court for violently attacking a driver in the city. The incident occurred on June 30 around 3:52 p.m. on Yehuda HaNasi Street, when the suspect, riding an electric scooter, began shouting profanities at the driver. The driver did not understand the reason for the outburst and continued driving, but the suspect chased him through the streets.
Upon reaching a square in Elad, the suspect got off the scooter and smashed the left side mirror of the driver's car. The driver managed to continue but was soon stopped in traffic. The suspect then returned, damaged the car's hood and emblem, broke the right side mirror, and shattered the windshield. The suspect opened the driver's door and repeatedly punched the driver in the face and head while threatening him and demanding money. Despite attempts by bystanders to intervene, the suspect continued the assault and even tore part of the driver's hair before finally leaving the scene.
After the driver fled the vehicle, the suspect opened the door again, threw objects out, took cash from inside, and fled. The driver sustained a bleeding nose injury, redness on his hand, and head pain. Police from the Rosh HaAyin station in the Central District quickly investigated using technological means, located the suspect, and arrested him. The indictment was filed following a swift investigation. Authorities emphasized their zero-tolerance policy toward road violence and their commitment to public safety.
