Two Minors Arrested for Brutal Attack on Electric Scooter Rider in Beit Shean
A report initially filed as a traffic accident near the Kantra parking lot in Beit Shean on July 19, 2026, has been reclassified as a severe and brutal assault following an intensive police investigation. The victim, a young man riding an electric scooter, was found severely injured with a critical head wound and is currently hospitalized in Rambam Medical Center's intensive care unit, sedated and on a ventilator.
The incident began when emergency services responded to a call about a young man lying injured near the parking area. Passersby discovered him bleeding heavily beside his scooter. He was first taken to Emek Hospital in Afula and later transferred to Rambam due to the severity of his injuries.
Northern District police officers and traffic accident investigators initially treated the case as a self-inflicted accident. However, forensic and intelligence work at the scene revealed evidence suggesting the victim was violently attacked by others who fled the scene. This led to a shift in the investigation from an accident to a criminal assault.
Following the new findings, police intensified their efforts and arrested two minors suspected of direct involvement in the attack. The suspects were taken for questioning and are now being presented to the Tiberias Magistrate's Court, where the police will request an extension of their detention to continue the investigation and complete necessary procedures.
Authorities emphasize that the investigation into this serious incident is ongoing using all available resources.
