Israeli Police Arrest Four Suspects in Ashdod Cigarette Smuggling Case Worth Over 20 Million Shekels

Israeli police have arrested four suspects involved in a large-scale cigarette smuggling operation at the Ashdod customs warehouse. The arrests followed a joint investigation by the Lachish District Police and the customs authority. Among those detained is an employee of the warehouse where the smuggled cigarettes were stored. The suspects are accused of stealing thousands of cartons of cigarettes that had been seized, with an estimated value exceeding 20 million shekels. The contraband was stored in a private terminal under customs supervision.
