Israeli Police Seize 1.2 Million Shekels Worth of Smuggled Tobacco Hidden Behind Plastic Pipes

Israeli police uncovered a large shipment of smuggled tobacco products concealed behind plastic pipes in a truck near Wadi Ara. During the inspection, officers found 3,281 cigarette packs, 247 kilograms of hookah tobacco, and 188 kilograms of loose tobacco hidden within the cargo. The total estimated value of the seized tobacco goods is approximately 1.2 million shekels. The truck itself, valued at around 60,000 shekels, was also confiscated.

The operation was conducted by the Iron Police Station in cooperation with the Lul Council and Customs Crossings, targeting smuggling activities into Israel. Authorities believe this seizure represents a significant smuggling attempt. The tobacco products were transferred to Customs offices for further processing, and investigations continue to determine the origin and intended destination of the shipment.
