Maccabi Haifa Defender Lisab Issa Transfers to Bristol City in Championship
Lisab Issa, the central defender for Maccabi Haifa and the Romanian national team, is set to join Bristol City in the English Championship after the two clubs reached an agreement. Issa will sign a four-year contract with Bristol City, earning 700,000 euros per season. Maccabi Haifa will receive a transfer fee of 2.5 million euros for the player.
Issa's agent previously confirmed in a Romanian interview that Bristol City made the most serious offer for the defender, despite interest from several other clubs. Bristol City finished the last season in 12th place under manager Michael Skubala, with 17 wins, 18 losses, and 11 draws. The club was eliminated in the fourth round of the FA Cup and the second round of the League Cup.
During the past season, Issa made 33 appearances for Maccabi Haifa across all competitions, scoring one goal and providing two assists. The transfer marks Issa's move to the British Isles, where he will continue his professional career in the competitive Championship league.
