Maccabi Haifa Sells Lisb Assaat to Bristol City for €2.2 Million with Future Bonuses
Maccabi Haifa defender Lisb Assaat has officially left the Israeli club to sign with Bristol City, a Championship team in England. The transfer fee is reported at 2.2 million euros. Haifa included a clause in the deal entitling them to 15 percent of any future transfer fee, after deducting the initial 2.2 million euros paid by Bristol City.
Additionally, Maccabi Haifa hopes that Assaat will progress similarly to Anan Khalaily, who is expected to be sold from Union Saint-Gilloise for a record fee for an Israeli player. If Assaat helps Bristol City achieve promotion to the Premier League, Haifa will receive a bonus of 200,000 euros.
In other club news, Maccabi Haifa's youth team has decided to retain Aylon Baruch and Liam Kargola as overage players. Both had strong seasons and will occasionally train with the senior squad. The club may consider including them in first-team matches if they continue to impress.
