Maccabi Haifa Secures Future Sale Percentage in Lisab Issat Transfer to Bristol City
Lisab Issat was officially presented as a new player for Bristol City, competing in the English Championship, after transferring from Maccabi Haifa. Issat had recently signed a contract extension with Maccabi Haifa, which included a clause ensuring the club would not refuse a significant transfer offer. Bristol City agreed to pay between two and 2.5 million euros, with the final deal closing at two million euros due to Maccabi Haifa's insistence on retaining a percentage of any future sale.
Similar to a previous transfer involving Anan Khalaily, Maccabi Haifa secured 15% of any future transfer amount exceeding two million euros, which Bristol City has already invested. This clause means that if Bristol City profits from selling Issat to a bigger club, Maccabi Haifa will receive additional funds. In the Khalaily deal, this percentage has already yielded nearly three million euros for Maccabi Haifa. The club hopes Issat will be sold to a larger club in the future, bringing further financial benefits to the team from Haifa.
