23-Year-Old from Netivot Charged for Carrying Loaded Gun in Ashkelon Vehicle
The Southern District Prosecutor's Office filed charges on Sunday against 23-year-old Lior Elias from Netivot for carrying a loaded Glock pistol in a car in Ashkelon. According to the indictment, submitted through attorney Zohav Marsiano, Elias was traveling with two others on Eli Cohen Street in Ashkelon a few weeks ago. He was seated in the front passenger seat wearing gloves and allegedly held a loaded Glock pistol with a magazine containing six 9mm bullets and one additional bullet in the chamber.
Police officers who became suspicious stopped the vehicle and found the gun concealed in the door compartment next to the passenger seat. The car also contained a change of clothes and a motorcycle helmet. Alongside the indictment, the prosecution requested Elias's detention until the conclusion of legal proceedings.
The prosecution stated that the weapon was loaded and ready for immediate use, raising serious concerns about the purpose of carrying it and indicating a high level of danger. The indictment includes charges of carrying and transporting a weapon. The case is being handled by the Southern District Prosecutor's Office in Be'er Sheva.
