‘Sacrificing for the team’: What is happening with Tomer Ginat
Hapoel Tel Aviv forward Tomer Ginat is dealing with a serious medical issue and continues to get on the court.
Alongside the decisive playoff games, Hapoel Tel Aviv continues to monitor Ginat’s condition, as he has recently been dealing with a knee injury. Although he is not fully fit, Ginat has made great efforts to be available to the team during the playoffs and take part in the games.
Team coach Dimitris Itoudis addressed the issue and said: “We need to emphasize Tomer, who is doing everything he can to get back to playing, that is not something to take for granted. He has not trained for a long time and came back ‘boom’ into the intensity of the playoffs. He is doing everything in order to be with the team, and that is not something to take for granted.”
George Hinas added: “He is sacrificing for the team when he is not at 100 percent. Not every player would do that.”
At Hapoel Tel Aviv they note that the workload and intensity of the playoff games make it difficult for a player returning from a prolonged injury, but Ginat continues to try to contribute as much as possible despite his fitness limitations and the short time he had to return to full game rhythm.
As a reminder, there is a national team window coming up at the start of July, and there too the captain is expected to do what he can to play.
