Israeli Forces Kill Armed Militant in South Lebanon After Pursuit
Israeli troops from Brigade 551, under the command of Division 91, identified an armed militant in the security zone near Majdal Zoun in southern Lebanon during the weekend. Upon spotting the suspect, the soldiers opened fire and initiated a determined pursuit to neutralize the threat. After extensive searches and maneuvers, the forces successfully encircled and killed the militant.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) emphasized their ongoing commitment to eliminating threats against their personnel operating in the area and preventing Hezbollah from harming Israeli civilians. This operation follows a series of successful actions by Brigade 551 in the region, which has been particularly active in recent weeks around Majdal Zoun.
Recently, the brigade uncovered and destroyed a large underground Hezbollah facility in a nearby village, used for launching drones and storing weapons. The current operation aims to continue clearing the area of terrorist infrastructure and militants to maintain security along the border.
The IDF spokesperson reiterated that Israeli forces will persist in their efforts to remove all threats posed by terrorist organizations in southern Lebanon.
