Israeli Police Detain Groom and Disperse Reckless Wedding Convoy in Lod

Israeli security forces stopped a wedding convoy in Lod on Friday after reports of dangerous driving through city streets. The convoy, suspected of reckless behavior and serious traffic violations, was intercepted by Border Police fighters from the Central District and Lod police officers. The groom was detained for questioning at the Lod police station before reaching the wedding ceremony.

During the operation, several luxury vehicles valued at hundreds of thousands of shekels were removed from the road due to safety defects and illegal modifications. Drivers involved received traffic fines and court summons for their offenses. The police action was part of a special task force established in Lod and Ramla to combat crime and strengthen law enforcement in the area.

According to police, the convoy endangered public safety and disrupted order, prompting focused enforcement against the drivers. The Central District police and Border Police pledged to continue their determined efforts against road violence, life-threatening offenses, and criminal activity that jeopardizes public security and road users' safety.
