Maggie Tabibi Breaks 17th of Tammuz Fast Live on Channel 14
As she does annually, news anchor Maggie Tabibi broke the fast of the 17th of Tammuz live on Channel 14 on Thursday evening. Before drinking water to end the fast, Tabibi reflected on the significance of the day, stating that the remedy for past baseless hatred begins with present-day unconditional love. She said, "With the conclusion of the 17th of Tammuz fast and the approach of the Three Weeks, this is a reminder that the correction for past baseless hatred starts with love in the present." Tabibi also expressed solidarity with viewers by saying, "Tonight, as every year, we will end the fast together with you." She then recited the blessing "Shehakol" over a glass of water and broke the fast live on air.
