Israel Reports Destroying 83% of Terror Tunnels Inside Gaza's Yellow Line After 1,000 Days of Conflict

On the 1,000th day since the deadly terror attack on October 7, Israel's Defense Minister Yoav Katz held a multi-front situation assessment with Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir and other senior officials. Katz summarized the achievements of the ongoing conflict, emphasizing Israel's strengthened and unified stance despite heavy losses. He stated that Israel emerged from its greatest crisis with renewed determination and power.

Katz highlighted Israel's strategic successes, including striking at the core of the Iranian threat, thwarting Iran's nuclear program, eliminating key Iranian leaders including Supreme Leader Khamenei, and severely damaging Iran's strategic capabilities. He also noted the elimination of Hamas leadership involved in the October 7 massacre, the killing of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and his command, the destruction of Assad's army in Syria, the decimation of Houthi leadership in Yemen, and significant blows to all terror factions surrounding Israel.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) currently maintain security zones in Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria and are preparing for a prolonged presence in these areas. Ground operations continue in Judea and Samaria, with ongoing efforts to destroy terror tunnel infrastructure in Gaza, where 83% of tunnels inside the yellow line have been eliminated. In Lebanon, Operation "Money Harrow" is actively dismantling terror infrastructure along the frontline villages. Katz stressed that Israel will not allow enemies to establish footholds near its borders or threaten its communities, and the IDF remains a protective barrier against jihadist enemies.

The campaign is ongoing, and Katz concluded that after 1,000 days, Israel's enemies clearly understand their attempt to destroy the state has failed.
