Defense Minister Katz Reports 83% of Gaza Tunnels Destroyed Amid Ongoing Security Operations
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz held a situation assessment marking 1,000 days since October 7, with participation from IDF Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, Defense Ministry Director General Major General (res.) Amir Baram, and other senior officials. Katz stated that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are currently positioned in security zones in Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria and will not withdraw from these areas. He emphasized the need for the IDF to prepare for a prolonged presence in these territories.
Katz highlighted ongoing operations, noting that Israeli forces continue to operate deep within terror camps in Judea and Samaria. In Gaza, efforts to destroy the tunnel infrastructure persist, with 83% of the tunnels in the Yellow Line area already eliminated. Additionally, in Lebanon, the "Silver Plow" operation targeting terror infrastructure along the first line of villages continues at full intensity.
