18-Year-Old Hanna Laev Passes Away After Long Illness in Bnei Brak

Hanna Laev, an 18-year-old girl from a distinguished Satmar Hasidic family, passed away after enduring a prolonged illness. She died on the fast of the 17th of Tammuz 5786 (Jewish calendar) at Maayanei Hayeshua Hospital in Bnei Brak. Hanna was the daughter of Rabbi Yoel Laev, a prominent Satmar Hasid and grandson of Rabbi Asher Zelig, head of the Satmar community in London. Her mother is the daughter of Rabbi Menachem Klein, a leading figure in the Belz Hasidic community and chairman of the Ahavat Tzion Kollel in Zvibnbergen, Israel.

Hanna's family lineage includes many notable rabbinic figures, including descendants of the Hatam Sofer, Baal HaTanya, and other revered sages. Despite her suffering, her family expressed deep faith and love throughout her illness. Her funeral took place on Thursday evening at 10:30 PM, starting from the Shamgar funeral home in Jerusalem and proceeding to Har HaMenuchot cemetery for burial. The family and community mourn the loss of a young woman from a highly respected and pious lineage, praying that her soul be bound in the bond of life.
