Elliot Anderson Signs With Manchester City in £116 Million Deal

Manchester City has officially signed England midfielder Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest in a transfer worth £116 million, marking one of the Premier League's most expensive deals. The 23-year-old, currently with the England national team in the United States, has completed medical tests in Kansas and will finalize the move upon his return to England. This transfer makes Anderson the second most costly signing in Premier League history, behind Alexander Isak's €145 million move to Liverpool last summer.

Anderson joined Nottingham Forest two years ago for £35 million from Newcastle United. During his tenure, he made 92 appearances, scored four goals, and provided four assists, contributing to Forest's Premier League survival and their run to the Europa League semifinals. He has also been a starter for England in the 2026 World Cup, playing in their 4-2 victory over Croatia and 0-0 draw with Ghana. England currently leads their group and will face Panama in the final group stage match. Anderson is scheduled for additional medical examinations on Monday in New York.
