Gadi Eizenkot Commits to Working with Naftali Bennett to Defeat Current Israeli Government

At the 22nd Herzliya Conference hosted by the Institute for Policy and Strategy at Reichman University on Wednesday, Gadi Eizenkot, chairman of the Yisrael party, emphasized his primary goal of winning the upcoming elections to establish a Zionist and national government in Israel. Reflecting on recent political developments, Eizenkot revealed that about a month after the war, coalition members approached him with a proposal for a constructive vote of no confidence, suggesting he lead the government temporarily to save the country, with no intention for him to lead a party afterward. However, this attempt failed. In recent months, Eizenkot stated he has come to a clear understanding that it is their duty to defeat the current government and coalition, which he described as the worst since the state's founding. He also expressed confidence in collaborating with former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett moving forward.
