28 Drones Successfully Enter Gaza This Year Amid Ongoing Smuggling Attempts

According to Israeli military data, 28 drones have successfully crossed into the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the year, raising significant security concerns. The drones are believed to have mostly reached Hamas, with some originating from Egypt and others from Israel. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have intercepted 89 smuggling attempts involving drones so far, totaling 117 attempts in about six months. While all seized drones reportedly carried drugs, the IDF acknowledges that many drones likely went undetected and that the exact contents of those that crossed remain unknown. Security officials warn that the drones themselves are valuable assets for Hamas and could be used for future terrorist activities. Efforts to prevent drone smuggling continue, but some drones still manage to breach the border into Gaza.
