Vizhnitz Hasidim Plan Torah Study Protest Near Israeli Attorney General's Home

The Vizhnitz Hasidic community is organizing a significant religious protest titled "The Torah's Cry" near the home of Israel's Attorney General, Gali Baharav-Miara. Hundreds of Torah scholars and yeshiva students are expected to gather, carrying Torah scrolls and study texts, to establish a vibrant study hall at the protest site. This event aims to express their anguish over the imprisonment of Torah learners solely for their dedication to Torah study.

The protest will maintain a distinctly religious character, with participants continuing their regular study sessions as a form of demonstration. The central message emphasizes that the response to persecution of Torah study is increased Torah learning and vocal expression of faith.

However, the police are currently imposing obstacles to holding the protest at the planned location. Officials within the Vizhnitz community indicated that a final decision regarding the protest site will be made the following morning after further consultations with law enforcement authorities.
